Professor Denny Meyer

Professor Denny Meyer BSc (Hons) Mathematical Statistics (1973) University of Natal, South Africa; MBL and DBL, University of South Africa (1981, 1985). She is currently a member of the executive for the Centre for Mental Health at the Swinburne University of Technology and a member of the Department of Health Science and Biostatistics. Professor Meyer is an applied statistician with particular interests in the area of mental health.  Professor Meyer’s current research includes the evaluation of eTherapy interventions, risk assessment in areas such as traffic crashes and suicide, using a variety of modelling approaches (machine learning, visualisation techniques, structural equation modelling, time series analysis and multi-level modelling). 


She also studies the engagement of respondents with online services (e.g. mental health services). She has had a significant number of national and international collaborations, more than 240 peer reviewed publications and has supervised 34 PhD and 2 Masters projects to completion. She has been the recipient of major project grants (including Australian Research Council (ARC), Mental Illness Research Fund (MIRF), Medical Research Future Fund and Beyond Blue) with total funding >$5.8 million over her career.


To the EIL Studies, Professor Denny Meyer’s contribution has been invaluable. She is the co-author in most of the publications with Professor Selvarajah. Her contribution to the statistics analysis in all the EIL publications has been consistent and of high quality.

Dr Suku Sukunesan

Dr Suku Sukunesan is a Senior Lecturer at Swinburne University of Technology within the Information Systems Department. He is also the Program Director for Masters in Business Information Systems and Senior Research Fellow. He currently holds two patents and has a keen interest in disruptive technologies, social media applications and innovative business models. Dr Sukunesan has to date received over USD$2 million in competitive funding for research.
 
Skilled in grasping the big picture and implementing solutions with available resources; Dr Sukunesan has a broad range of expertise and understanding of innovation, technology and systems approach. His extensive experience in working with SMEs and MNCs gives him a great insight towards the challenges of technology implementation and digitalisation across South East Asian countries. He has co-authored in a number of EIL studies.

André A. de Waal, Ph.D., MSc, MBA

André de Waal (1960) is Academic Director of the HPO Center, an organization which conducts research into high performance organizations. He is also a partner at the Finance Function Research & Development Center, a company that aims to help finance functions to transform in a high-performing department. André has been a consultant and partner with Arthur Andersen for 16 years. 


André was also 13 years Associate Professor Organizational Effectiveness at the Maastricht School of Management. He has been guest lecturer at the Free University Amsterdam, University of Amsterdam, and Erasmus University Rotterdam, and currently is a visiting fellow at Cranfield University, UK and senior lecturer at Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences. André holds a MSc in Chemistry from Leiden University (the Netherlands), a MBA from Northeastern University Boston (USA) and a Ph.D. in Economics from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (the Netherlands). He was selected by managementboek.nl as one of the Dutch Masters in Management, ten people who have influenced management thinking in The Netherlands the most in the past decade.


André has published more than 400 articles (among which more than 100 academic publications) and 33 books. Among the books are What Makes A High Performance Organization (Global Professional Publishing, 2012), Strategic Performance Management (Palgrave MacMillan, 2nd edition, 2013) and High-Performance managerial Leadership (Praeger, 2020). Professor JASK Jayakody

Professor JASK Jayakody serves as the Director, Institute of Human Resource Advancement, University of Colombo on secondment. His substantive position is an Associate Professor in Management & Organization Studies at the Department of Management & Organization Studies, Faculty of Management and Finance, University of Colombo at present.


Professor Jayakody completed B.Sc. in Management (Public) Special from University of Sri Jayewardenepura, and MBA and PhD from the Postgraduate Institute of Management of the same university. He is a Commonwealth Fellow.


He has served as the Unit Coordinator, Postgraduate & Mid-career Development Unit and the Head, Department of Management & Organization Studies, Faculty of Management and Finance, University of Colombo. In 2013 he assumed duties as the Head, PIM Research Centre, Postgraduate Institute of Management, University of Sri Jayewardenepura on sabbatical and he volunteered to serve at the same capacity in 2014.


Professor Jayakody is a member of the Council of Management, National Centre for Advanced Studies in Humanities and Social Sciences (NCAS) and Member of the Board of Study, Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing. He has served as an invited member of the Faculty Board, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, the Open University of Sri Lanka and a member of the Board of Directors, Sri Lanka Handicrafts Board (Laksala), Member of the Board of Study of Management, National Institute of Library and Information Sciences, University of Colombo.


Professor Jayakody’s research focuses on leadership and change, and exchange relationships in organizations. He has published in journals including International Journal of Human Resource Management, International Journal of Bank Marketing, Journal of Knowledge Management, Journal of Management Development, The Economic and Labour Relation Review and Management Decision. He has served and continues to serve as a member of the editorial board of Leadership, Contemporary Management Research, Sri Lankan Journal of Management and reviews for a range of journals.


He teaches leadership at master’s level and research methods for bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral students. He has supervised many dissertations at bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral levels and serves as an examiner for several doctoral theses.


In addition to being an academic, he also engages in consultancies and has provided his services to a range of public, private and not-for-profit organizations including CEAT Kelani International Tyres (Pvt) Ltd, Keels Food Products (PLC), Information & Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) Sri Lanka, Lily Hotels (Pvt.) Ltd., Republic of Maldives and Integration International Management Consultants, Germany.

Dr Samir Shrivastava

Dr Samir Shrivastava is currently Senior Lecturer in the Department of Management and Marketing at Swinburne University in Melbourne. Samir had earlier served in the Indian army as an infantry officer for over 11 years. He has taught across a range of subjects including Organisational Behaviour, Strategy (Capstone unit), Knowledge Management, and Strategic Human Resources Management. His interests lie at the cusp of strategy, OB, and HR. he has published in journals such as Human Relations, HRM, Journal of Business Ethics, and HRD International. He has applied the EIL framework to study managerial excellence in the South African context.

Professor Beatrice Van der Heijden

Beatrice Van der Heijden is full Professor of Strategic HRM and Head of the department Strategic HRM at the Radboud University, Nijmegen, the Netherlands. Moreover, she occupies a Chair in Strategic HRM at the Open Universiteit, Netherlands; at Ghent University, Belgium; at Kingston University, London, United Kingdom; and at Hubei University, Wuhan, China. Her main research areas are sustainable careers, employability, and aging at work. Van der Heijden is associate editor of the European Journal of Work and Organizational Psychology and Co-editor of the German Journal of Human Resource Management. Recently, Van der Heijden has been elected for the Academy of Europe.

Dr Ratna Roostika

Ratna Roostika is currently Senior Lecturer in the Management Department, Faculty of Business and Economics at the Universitas Islam in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. She received her Doctoral degree (Ph.D) from Swinburne University in Melbourne, having previously obtained a Master of Applied Commerce (MAC) from the University of Melbourne and Sarja Ekonomi (S.E) from the Islamic University of Indonesia. Dr Roostika teaches in Strategic Marketing and International Marketing. Research topics of interests includes Place Branding, Tourism Marketing and Creative Marketing. She has published over seventeen articles in journals and presented in numerous conferences. Dr Ratna Roostika received a postdoctoral scholarship from Fulbright at Purdue University Indiana USA in 2013.

Professor Tarun Kanti Bose

Dr. Tarun Kanti Bose is currently serving as a Professor at Business Administration Discipline in Khulna University, Bangladesh. His research interests are mainly in the areas of International Business, Entrepreneurship-Linked with Development. He has research collaborations and joint publications with researchers from seven countries including: Germany, UK, Australia, Malaysia, China, India, and Bangladesh. Tarun has published about fifty research papers in domestic and international journals including in the European Journal of International Management, Journal of Small Business and Entrepreneurship, Contemporary Management Research, International Journal of Entrepreneurial Venturing, Journal of Small Business Strategy, International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Small Business with more than 560 Google scholar citations. Apart from that in 2018, He has also written a book chapter on location and entrepreneurship with Professor Pavlos Dimitratos (University of Glasgow) and Professor Frank McDonald (University of Liverpool) in the book “The Routledge Companion to the Geography of International Business”. Tarun has also reviewed for internationally reputed journals, such as the International Business Review (Elsevier), International Marketing Review (Emerald) and the International Small Business Journal (Sage).

Dr Bose has been awarded research grants and scholarships from five countries including Germany (DAAD, Research Grants-Doctoral Programmes in Germany, 2015-16), Switzerland (Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship for Doctoral Studies, 2015-16), UK (College of Social Science PhD Scholarship, University of Glasgow, 2015-16), Australia (International Post Graduate Research Scholarship, 2014-15) and The Netherlands (The Netherlands Fellowship Program for Masters Study, 2010-11).

Tarun obtained his PhD in International Business from Adam Smith Business School of University of Glasgow, under the supervision of Professor Pavlos Dimitratos. He enjoys teaching Economics, International Business, and Entrepreneurship, Strategy. He has near about 12 years of experience in teaching and research and studied in the Universities of Bangladesh, The Netherlands and The UK.

Dr Pradeepa Dahanayake

Pradeepa Dahanayake currently teaches International Business at Swinburne Business School, in Melbourne. Pradeepa completed her doctoral studies at Swinburne University and was awarded the PhD in 2018 for her thesis titled Justice and fairness in the workplace: A trajectory for managing diversity. She holds an MBA from the University of Newcastle, Australia, an LLB from University of Colombo, Sri Lanka and is an Attorney at Law. Prior to joining academia, Pradeepa has worked in the manufacturing industry and the aviation industry as a senior Human Resources Professional and has led many strategic projects. Her research interests include diversity and inclusion, leadership and cross-cultural studies, employee wellbeing and industrial relations. Pradeepa has published in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, an International Journal, and the Asia Pacific Business Review. She has presented several research papers at top tier academic conferences.

Dr Áron Perényi

I am a business academic of the 21st century. I specialise in research on international entrepreneurship, senior entrepreneurship, international business, economic development and social marketing in transitional and emerging countries and contexts. I am passionate about my profession and believe in the formative impact of academia on business and society. I am strongly committed to the quality of my activities and outputs. My projects involve businesses, governments and civil society in Australia, Central Eastern Europe, Latin America, and the Victorian Aboriginal community. I am a professional member of AIB, AIB-CEE, ANZAM, EURAM, the Hungarian Economic Association and the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. I am the co-founder of Melbourne’s Central European Business Forum and a regular participant in the international business activities of the Victorian Government. I am also a founding member of the Group of Energy Efficiency Researchers Australia, and founding co-chair of the International Competitiveness track of EURAM. I am a regular international speaker. I am also active in PhD supervision, early career researcher training and mentoring, scholarly editing and peer reviewing, international business engagement and start-up mentoring.
